Unveiled at Computex 2011, the MeeGo Linux based ASUS Eee PC X101 is billed as world's thinnest and lightest netbook at 17.6 mm (0.69-inches) thin and weighing 920 grams (2lbs).

The Eee PC X101 is powered by a 1GHz Intel Atom N435 or N455 processor and comes with 1GB DDR3 memory (expandable to 2GB) and 2.5" SATA 8GB SSD. There's also 2GB of cloud-based storage available, a VGA webcam built-in and its 10.1-inch LED backlit screen works at WSVGA (1024x600) resolution.

Connectivity is courtesy of WLAN 802.11 b/g/n, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, audio jack, or Bluetooth 3.0. Ethernet and VGA ports are missing in order to keep the design slim and apart from fewer ports, some users might find ASUS Eee PC X101 battery life of up to 4 hours a little disappointing.

The Asus Eee PC X101 is pre-loaded with ASUS App store, asus@vibe entertainment platform, British Council English Language Learning program, while the Dropbox application offering 2GB of online storage is also built-in.

Although the netbook is basically MeeGo-based, apparently there will be an alternative version in the form of Windows 7 Starter-based X101H netbook (though this hasn't been officially confirmed).

ASUS Eee PC X101 will be available in black, red, white and brown. The pricing and release date has not been revealed officially yet, although the X101 product page has gone live and rumors put the MeeGo-based X101 at US$199 for the basic version.

Apparently...since the above has a Win key.

It would be great if only the battery would hold longer. Until then, I won\'t buy anything like this.
