Finally, a bullet-proof handkerchief
October 13, 2008 Where would any discerning gentleman be without the humble handkerchief? They provide a fashionable place to deposit one’s nasal excretions, are a convenient place to dry one’s hands when caught without a towel, and are able to deflect bullets when one is caught in the middle of a gunfight. That’s right, the invention we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived with the release of the ‘Bullet-Proof Gentleman’s Pocket Square’.
The bullet-proof hanky is being sold exclusively at Iceland’s Liborius and, although it is made from military grade Kevlar Arimid, (in lemon), the store and designer, “take NO responsibility for schmucks and wooden-heads who feel compelled to test the endurance or resistance of the textile in any way”. Not exactly a reassuring disclaimer, but for those James Bond types out there the Bullet-Proof Gentleman’s Square can also add a dash of color to a suit pocket as well as a bit of extra protection around the heart.
