The styling's probably a bit polarising, but too many trucks today are just bloated versions of the cars in the maker's fleet, in trying to follow a brand-wide "design language". If you're going to be a niche player, you can do what you want. The B1 will appeal to people who would have otherwise bought a Defender.

I think it's fantastic! Finally a real 4wd that isn't completely made of plastic and crappy fairings etc! Getting back to what these kind of cars should be, simple, dependable and useful. Sure it's not going to get you to the middle of nowhere but it's going to do a lot in between!
Styling gets an A+ from me, would love to see one in action.

A Mk1 Landrover for the 21st century however there won't be many Welsh hill farmers who can afford it, you will more likely see it in Chelsea, if it comes to fruition. I wish them every success.

I totally agree with Jabboson! It is absolutely refreshing to finally see an actual sport UTILITY vehicle! I have long thought that there is a huge and burgeoning market globally for simple, practical, durable and efficient vehicles! Most of the up-and-coming younger generation cannot afford $30K+ in personal transportation, and (mostly) the alternatives are scooters, skateboards or bikes. But as the weather affects us all, these are simply not cutting it! Would love to see an entire line (think mini-moke all the way up to a modernized kombi - and everything in between, including a pickup) of vehicles emphasizing practicality over style. (Style is always there, but has got to emphasize smart, responsible and logical decisions!) There is a lot of business that could be done in this market!

One of the reasons Defender was taken off the market was its inability to meet current Construction and Use Regs both here in UK and the equivalents elsewhere..... I like the concept of the Bollinger - Isn't there going to be an issue with that name? - but does it comply with crash-worthiness, air bags etc. etc. ad nauseum?

I am available for beta testing in San Diego! Love the simplicity.

Nothing beats Frank Lloyd Wright's maxim, "Form follows function." Bollinger has satisfied this concept beautifully. When you do that, the design survives the vagaries of fad and fashion and becomes "classic." The reference, below to the "Defender," by @Johannes touches on this.

Brutishly simple....can even haul flag poles down the middle.

Looks like a great, no-nonsense 4WD! I wish Bollinger all the best with this!

I love it! Lots of clever details. Let's hope it comes to market for a reasonable price. This would make an ideal replacement for my old Toyota Tacoma!
