That's not a flying car; a flying car can be driven down the street. Looks nice, though.

Interesting article and convo on this very exciting topic! Couple of thots: I still think that you're gonna need wheels on those "landing balls" to roll it into the garage for the night. Also, flight speed could be augmented either by utilizing the hybrid turbine's exhaust or by allowing the middle pair of prop arms to also pivot a few degrees to provide pusher power. BTW, micro-turbine generators are also a very mature tech, so shouldn't be much worry/development time implementing that, either. Great job so far! Keep at it, boys!

Tesla may have a battery to increase your range by 50% .It is the new 2170 . An improvement to the 18650. Energy efficiency is in the 300 wh/kg range. Twist their arm and have them build modules.

A new epoch, the 'electropocene' is upon us as we enter the age of the Jetsons. Thank god.

This is the future, no doubt about it. However anything that rides in the air, in the wind, is definitely going to crash from time to time. I don't think these will work in the city. But they might work along a freeway approaching to the city, and probably be ok out in the countryside.

We will still be struggling with the 2D autonomous cars for decades to come, puts the 3D air space into perspective & even harder to envision with the greedy and selfish society we have become all but the 1% ever have a chance to play with these toys...

You guys already developed a jet pack to permit one to fly around and land softly. Why don''t you employ those same jet engines to land the craft safely during a power loss or motor failure. Just have them idling until such time they are needed. Space X uses their rocket engines to provide a safe landing, no reason why you can't do the same.

'...or all intents and purposes, it's a single-seat electric multicopter that'll fit in a single car garage...' Wow, this is the old way of thinking. These things will never be cost-effective or safe to own unless they are autonomous and shared. There is no need (although some would still want to) to own autonomous transport vehicle. The cost savings alone would make it a moot point except for those with money to spare.
However, it needs to be autonomous first. Having even just a few hundred of these in the airspace above a place like say Manhattan will lead to an unacceptable number of crashes.
This is the future and it will be the next evolutionary step after the autonomous electric car brings some more freedom and less congestion to our roads. Autonomous air taxis will truly set transportation free from it's current issues.

Thanks Loz for another informative article. Excellent, informative comments instead of the often negative,as well.
