Ducati has picked up two prizes at this year's Concours d'Eleganza Villa d'Este for concept bikes based off the Scrambler. The concept Café Racer, with its funky headlight and shiny aluminum bodywork, took top honors, with a redesigned Scrambler Desert Sled coming in third.

The Café Racer was the star of the show, taking home both the judges' award in the "Motorcycle Design - Concept Bike and New Prototypes" category and the Villa Erba trophy, awarded by public vote.

It's a future-retro twist on the Scrambler shape with clip-on bars, a funky LED headlight unit and a flat, slim tank/single seat unit with a stubby tail that reminds me a bit of Robocop's face.

Personally I liked the third-place desert racer more. With an adventure style beak, raised motocross bars and raised-up suspension, as well as a custom undertail exhaust, funky bashplate and totally redesigned bodywork to match its chunky Scorpion tires, this one's got a ton of style but also looks like a blast to ride.

Will we see either as a finished production bike, or a custom kit for Scrambler owners? Stranger things have happened.

Ducati, please build the cafe racer. Let's see build as a 450cc so cheap insurance, weight of 400lbs, so easy to handle and manage, cost of under $8000.00. Build it and I will buy it.

These two concepts are stunning. As a owner of a Limited Edition, the Scrambler model is so much fun. So the boss let you tag along or is this written at a (long Auzzie) distance,Loz?
