Modern Formula 1 might lack the drama of days gone by, but drivers still need lightning reflexes to make sure they don't end up as an expensive installation in a tire wall. To prove how quickly drivers are scanning the road, Force India's Nico Hulkenberg strapped on some goggles with some eye-tracking tech from Tobii and cut some hot laps.

Hulkenberg might be sitting 13th in the driver standings this year, but the video proves his reactions are still well beyond the reach of most mere mortals. Off the start line, he reacts to the changing lights in just 0.09 seconds. According to the narrator, that's so fast it's considered a false start in athletics.
