May 28, 2008 Not satisfied with the innocuous grey or black of standard mobiles? Perhaps these unique diamond encrusted phones from Gresso are what you’ve been looking for. But such exclusivity comes at a price - 9,000 and 33,000 euros (around US$14,000 and $52,000) depending on the model.

The White Diamonds collection features two luxury mobile phone models. The phones’ outer shells are made from 200 year old African Blackwood and white diamonds enchased with 18K gold. Because of the nature of the wood, the makers claim that no two identical Gresso phones exist. The function keys on the key pad are executed with gold and paved with white diamonds, each of 0,11 K. The screen is protected by sapphire crystal glass of 42K. To avoid damage, the keyboard also features a special titanic covering. The battery is made from stainless steel and decorated with leather.

The Gresso White Diamonds standard phone retails for 9,000 euro and comes with 4 white diamonds. Additionally, every function key is made of gold using ultra-precision turning technology. The Royal White Diamonds is a limited edition phone with only 200 handsets to be offered for sale. Retailing for 33,000 euro the phone comes with 23 function keys featuring gold and encrusted with white diamonds totaling 2,53K. Each of the phones runs on Windows Mobile 6 Standard and has an internal memory of 64 Mb and external 2GB memory. They come with 64 polyphonic ring tones and a 2 MP in-built camera.
