“While protection against severe disease remained high across the full 6 months, a decline in efficacy against symptomatic disease over time and the continued emergence of variants are expected.”

I have nothging whatsoever against the profit motive driving innovation and the improvement of peoples' lives. But that "are expected" comment... with zero evidence cited... should be seen as a transparent profit motivation with little to no health evidence.

“The discussion about boosters is really an appropriate preparation on the part of the [drug] companies together with the NIH and the CDC and others in being prepared in the eventuality that you might need a boost,” Fauci said

In spite of the CDC and FDA, in a rare, joint statement pushing back on Pfizer's wish for a 3rd shot, Fauci boldly exposes his personal financial interest in the vaccines.

I hope I don't need a booster, that second Moderna shot knocked me on my a** for 10 hours...

Why a booster shot? One word... MONEY!
In the course of human history, "the flu" has never been cured. Why? Because it is a virus. A virus MUTATES to try and stay alive as our body uses it's antibody
ability to kill it. It's why every fall the "smart doctors" of the world try to figure out which strain will be present, and mix up a "flu shot" in hopes of providing relief
from "the flu". This strain of the corona virus, manufactured and release for who knows what reason, won't be stopped until it mutates into a non virulent form.
Then it will take it's place along with SARS, Ebola, MERS, and countless other "corona virus" outbreaks.

What I have never heard is how a new type of vaccine (which doesn't prevent you from getting the disease in the first place) can be expected to grow immunity in inocuateds and provide herd immunity at any time, ever. So what's the new inoculation expectation, EVERY 6 MONTHS FOR LIFE?

@Rusty Harris - Actually we have eradicated virus before, small pox, varients of polio etc. The problem with the flu is not actually its mutation rate but its seasonality. It actually travels out of the country and back. Covid isn't seasonal but it is traveling. Hence lockdowns and the introduction of vaccine passports.

We used to need to get about 20 injections to go to Africa/Asia, and now you can just get on a plane and go.
Pardon Me
Has a study been done like this using covid survivors? If not, why not? Why were covid survivors not included in this study?
Pardon Me
Has a study like this been done on covid survivors? If not, why not? Why were they not included in this study? How will survivors know if/when they will need a booster. All the talk/research that I have heard/seen is about vaccination. Survivors feel totally ignored. We are encouraged to get vaccinated, but are offered no evidence/data to justify why.

Stop the government from using "we the people" as lab rats. Enough is enough.

The level of misinformation and ignorance around this issue is off the charts. Once you split people into "camps" they don't give a damn about facts, evidence, or empirical data. They will accept the facts that support the camp they happen to be in and ignore the facts that don't. There is significant meaningful evidence vaccines work but many people will ignore a mountain of evidence counter to their position to hold up anything supporting their position no matter how flimsy as proof of being right.

What a complete waste of breath (excuse the pun). There's around a million new humans infected every day (if you include unreported ones), so there's no chance any vaccine is going to remain effective for any useful length of time - we've got a few dozen labs working on vaccines, with a few dozen researchers in each, 9 to 5, 5 days a week, while the viri have 10 million or more "active infections" working their way around, with 100 billion virions growing in each, 24/7.
