Hyundai is preparing an all-out onslaught for SEMA 2016, having taken the wraps off a Veloster to join the set of four-wheel drives it showed off last week. The Gurnade Concept takes the basic Hyundai Veloster, and works in a wide-bodykit and some choice engine modifications.

The major modifications to the Veloster focus on its exterior. Up front, a set of custom headlamps and foglamps sit below a new carbon fiber hood, working with a carbon front bar to add a bit of drama to the equation.

Meanwhile, moving along the side of the car reveals a new set of side bars and bolt-on fender flares. Down back, there's a massive wing attached to the carbon fiber hatch. It's all finished off in a special shade of PPG Magic Magenta, wrapped in a special paint protection film.

Under the hood, changes to the Veloster aren't quite as dramatic as the ones fitted to the Santa Fast. 845 Motorsports has provided a new intercooler, down pipe and cold-air intake for a bit more power, and a fresh ECU tune should also give the engine a boost. The upgraded motor breathes through a cat-back exhaust from AKA Performance.

Keeping the boosted Veloster in a straight line, and stopping it from going backwards into a ditch when it's shown a set of corners, are NEO Motorsports coilovers and a strut-bar, rear torsion bar and tie brace. The whole package sits on a set of three-piece 19-inch wheels wrapped in Toyo tires.

The motorsports focus continues on the inside, where Cobra Nogaro bucket seats and Takata racing harnesses hold the driver tightly. A full rollcage is another racing touch, but the big subwoofer and audio system are at odds with the rest of the stripped-back cabin.

The Veloster Gurnade Concept will be on display at SEMA in Las Vegas, which is due to start on November 1.
