It looks like a small circular panel underneath the gas tank looking thing. Could it be a small glove box area? Otherwise I'm inclined to agree they could have made a better use of space. I kind of like the low battery. If there is a storage area under the tank I'd say I even like the design.

Most likely the space there is used for hauling larger items such as luggage etc.

Actually think it kinda looks cool and anyone who has been to Vietname or other Asican countries will know, they will make use of that space underneath.

Yes, I thought it was pretty obvious the space under the seat was meant for bags and other items, it's actually quite a neat design.

It's a great design. That large space under the seat can fit any irregular cargo; a cardboard box, a chicken coop, a briefcase; which you hold there with your legs. Or nothing at all. Fairing it would be extra weight and reduce its usability

Yes, this 60-volt electric scooter does have a key-locked glove box inside the thing that looks like a gas tank. You can clearly see it open with a USB charging port inside, at around 50-seconds into the YT video.
