I'm glad that HD is getting a bit more diverse. This is a Harley that I would like to own. Too bad I don't have the budget.

Well, I'm not a fan of the styling in front right away, but it's not horrible either. KTM looks weird sometimes too. And the capabilities and technology are totally up to modern standards, and BMW and KTM should be a bit ashamed that Harley could come up with a bike that directly competes on that front, and even beats them on some of it, especially the lowering mode for short riders! If it proves reliable this is a serious competitor with those machines.

This would be a nice design without the horrible headlight.

now, put this motor in other frames and pension off the tractor engines.

Over-priced, over-hyped crap. I have a 1979 KZ1000 I bought in near-new condition in 1980. It is still going strong. When Harleys started costing as much as a two bedroom house, and claimed they don't leak oil anymore... I knew the dinosaur was dying.

Agree strongly with paul04 as well.
CAVUMark
But can it jump the Snake River canyon?

The torque and HP numbers are impressive. The suspension details are impressive,
The styling however.........reminds me of a LEGO kit.
What are the luggage arrangements ? Or, do we go straight to the TouraTech catalogue ?
I hope they sell a heap, and as mentioned elsewhere, put the engine into some other things in the range.

"if this company can't draw in younger riders" - ROFL - so they should introduce a huge, heavy, crap-looking bit of fossil-fuel guzzling MVP into a segment where electric awesomeness has already stolen the hearts, minds, and purse-strings of that entire market segment.

The idiots who run Harley are as antique as their bikes.

Reading your comments I don't think any of you have seen this bike in reality.
I've seen the prototype and it fills all the promises. The actual real bike goes further.
I'm not fan of the front. But it's much better in real life than in the photos. Much less bulky and it has it's own personality. Not just a twin headlamp like so many others. And it will light up the road !
The whole bike comes in as a pure contender against established brands. Lighter, more powerful, TFT screen with many tech options plus the suspension options. At 6' I don't need the options but I'm taking them anyway - they adapt to the weight of the pilot and passenger and baggage. Plus lowering when stopped.
Price is around the BM and Ducati range.
A few replies to the non believers :
@Nelson - agree but it's nicer in reality and why not be different ? Maybe an after market light will come out for those who don't like it. But think about it - a wide led light will light up the road so much better than a round one. I like being different anyway.
@ paul 04 - they will be putting this motor in other bikes and the tractors will take a step back. Thank God.
Lighter, faster and more manouverable bikes .
@ wolf0579 - I've been riding Harleys for 20 years. They don't leak. They are pricey to buy but the service charges are really small. Only had one mechanical problem over my 5 HDs on 20 years. I can't say that about the BM (brole 2 shaft drives plus gear box and clutch), Guzzis (electrical disaster) and Kawas (gearbox on ZZR 1100) I had before. BUT I still run a 1986 Kawa 1000RX which is still as much fun as it always was. And for more fun, a 1945 42WLA.
@ possum 1 - yes there is a full luggage catalogue similar to BM. With either square touring boxes or rounded more town type ones.
Anyway, it's a brave way to go - the only way to go away from the disastrous last 20 year strategy. You can' t wait till your faithful customers die off before changing direction.
I've ordered an S. Just in black. A last word - I could have gone many other ways but I like the brand despite all it's faults and I my local HD shop is like a second home.
