I think that is really neat.

Battery charge life is not an exact science. Can the on-board software accurately predict the range, when weather conditions can change unpredictably? What happens if there is a strong head wind, and the battery fully discharges before the craft reaches its intended destination? SPLAT!? Passenger aircraft have to submit a flight plan, and have it confirmed before take off. Will the existing system be capable of coping with the demand, of multitudes of these craft? It may have the controls for manned flight, but that would assume that the passenger has the ability to use them effectively, and safely. So who will be the passengers for these craft?

FYI This is a J-Ro gyroplane body from DTA

neat? yes! but it looks slow and doesn't go far enough for me. option for eliminating half the weight of the second passenger, more batteries, and carrying goods? where are several of these going to land?

That is very cool! I would only feel safe if it had a Ballistic Recovery System (rocket powered parachute).
Matt Fletcher
Amazing, oh wait. Not really, isn't it pretty much the same thing as an electric helicopter, which they already have with better ranges and are already in production?
Rick Gutbrod
Yeah, great. Get in trouble, no Sully to get you safely on the ground. Sorry, will NOT get into a self driving car, nor a self flying drone...

NIk, passenger aircraft in the US are only required to file a flightplan if they fly above a certain altitude or enter certain airspace. The Vast Majority Of fun, local flights DON'T file a flight plan. That said, these are no more likely to be a part of society as are the dozens of flying cars that have never made it to production. They simply arent practical except for the stupid rich....
Alex Stelling
Yeah you're stupid if you make lots of money. Seriously? There's always that one jealous person I guess. Yeah it would suck so bad to be able to afford anything I wanted.

I bet I could jump around inside enough to force it down. I bet there's six ways to make it crash.
