Mr. Benford, I am en route. Will pass by a nice vintner on the way. Red or white?

Mr Benford, I will be MORE than happy to drop past with a bottle of something really strong.

Szondy says "unfortunately, [Asimov] was on the money the [widespread hunger] prediction,..." Au contrer sir, there are POCKETS of hunger, as always caused by politics and war, but there is NO widespread hunger. There is enough food for everybody -- if only there were means to get the food to the few per-cent that are hungry. In the developed world, and even in the second tier, the problem is widespread obesity. Asimov was wrong.

just like to say what a geat job u guys do with this mag. look forward to reading it all the time even made an app to take me to your site on my phone. as for predictions i predicted that some day we will be able to stop the aging process and even reverse it when we learn to reproduce our DNA so there's a perfect copy. then we can reverse aging, grow new teeth, hair muscles and tissue. it will happen. then we will have a society where only the rich will stay young, as this will be only for those who can afford it. then we will have the situation where people will have to choose the age where they want to live. ie i would be happy at maybe 25 but you will have others who will choose to be 16 and have the scenario of them looking 16 but being maybe 100 years old. so do you still get a pension? do you gate served drink in pubs and so on? my scenario would be my daughter is 15, i am 45. these pills cost 1000 pounds for every year you reverse a year. there will come a time where i can only afford to have me or my daughter stay alive. do i let here get old while i stay young or do i just get older my question to you is if you could what age would you choose to stop at?

At least some of these writers would have described themselves as “SF” writers; there is a difference.

"[Roger Zelazny's] books – including his popular The Chronicles of Amber series – are readily available in electronic format"
Alas, to the best of my ability to discover, the statement above *is not true*!
I have recently been searching for an e-book edition of Zelazny's Amber books (or any book he actually wrote by himself), but I have had no luck. They are certainly not available as iBooks for the iPad/iPhone/iPod or Kindle books. I want text-based books, so the availability of the audio books doesn't count. I have searched elsewhere, but haven't turned up anything but very questionable-looking web sites claiming to offer e-book editions of one or two of his books (and I don't want to risk sending my contact information or money to them).
If anyone does have a pointer to legitimate e-book editions of Zelazny's work, please pass it on!

"Asimov was never wrong".
Sorry, but in his essay "The Power of Progression" he said
"Since the Earth's population is 3.5 billion people [in 1969] and since that population is now doubling at the rate of once every forty-seven years, we can make use of the following equation:"
According to the United Nations Population Fund, the Earth's population reached 7 billion people in October 2011, which from 1969 to 2011 is roughly forty-four years. According to the United States Bureau of Statistics the population today is 7.03 billion. http://www.census.gov/population/popclockworld.html
So he's wrong on at least two different measures.

The world produces excess food and it is wasted, the problem is distribution and political will.
