yeah, and anyone who see's you intently looking and typing at a blank screen is not going to tilt their head sideways to see what is so interesting about a blank screen.......where do these people get their ideas? I think they must be smoking something they should not.

@hkmk23, tilting your head will not reveal the picture, because the article says the eye is not sensitive to polarized light. You would still need polarizing glasses to see the image. Of course, anyone can buy such glasses, so the screen could still be seen.

I had an idea like this before for a sci fi game. In the game, the bridge of the ship had screens that you couldnt see unless you had the specific contact lenses to view them. It made security very easy to manage, and kept potentially classified information from being seen by mistake or intent. Thus the bridge crew could see all the screens but not the visitors that happened by for an interview. The concept here seems similar.

Great idea-especially for outdoor and sunny use! Normally, sunglasses prevent one from seeing a screen-this would enhance the screen when worn. Sign me up!

Since wearing my gift of Rayban reverse aviator style sunglasses I have not been able to read my mobile phone screen out of doors. I prefer the old green B and L lenses but one got smashed. Which ever company bought Rayban dont have them anymore I am stuck with these polarizing ones which are not as effective at reducing the glare. Is anyone making the old Bausch and Lomb green optical lenses?

This is nothing new. People knew how to do this before the millennium.

I have the same problem on my boat. My chartplotter looks black when I view it thru my polarized sunglasses. Maybe I just need to remove the film, I am the captain so no one else needs to read the screen anyway.

I tried this on my school issued Chromebook because if your's get's broken you can get a new one for $25, but it's messed up because with a bunch of different polarized glasses i needed to tilt my head, and i couldn't use the filter because it broke too easily, still awesome though, even though it's a bit negative

Any way to do this with an LED screen???
Ben Cline
Samuel: Are you talking about the expensive OLED? I doubt you are. LED monitors are LCD screens with LEDs to illuminate them instead of cathode lighting. The new OLED screens are different, rare, and super expensive. Your standard computer monitor or screen is not OLED. Calling a television an LED TV instead of LCD is just a marketing device.
