  • Is it possible for a volume car maker to develop a desirable luxury car? Many have tried over the years, but few have succeeded in convincing brand-sensitive buyers that their latest car is truly a match for the likes of Mercedes. Opel thinks it can buck the trend with its new Insignia Grand Sport.
  • Opel will use the upcoming Geneva International Motor Show in March to debut its latest iteration of the popular Mokka SUV. Dubbed the Mokka X, the vehicle will feature a new exterior, a redesigned interior, a next generation engine, and loads of connectivity.
  • Vauxhall and Opel have revealed their vision of the sports car of the future. The GT Concept has ultra-sleek black and grey styling, with red highlights. Despite its forward-thinking design, it draws inspiration from the 1966 Vauxhall XVR and the 1965 Opel Experimental GT.

  • Anyone who is in the market for a hot-hatch is spoiled for choice at the moment, with Ford, Renault and VW all offer engaging choices at a reasonable price. Opel has decided to join the battleground with its Corsa OPC, a turbocharged hot-hatch set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
  • Opel has revealed its Adam S city car, which will make its debut at next month's Paris Motor Show. The S combines a turbocharged 1.4-liter ECOTEC engine with an upgraded chassis to give the standard Adam some extra sporting credentials.
  • After a long wait, Opel has released its 5th generation Corsa. The updated car combines new engines with a totally redesigned chassis, and promises to be more a more engaging and efficient drive than before.
  • Start with a Vauxhall/Opel/Chevrolet/Saturn Astra VXR, shed 100 kg by replacing metal with carbon fiber, then pump its 2.0-liter turbo engine to 297 hp, upgrade the suspension wheels, tires, gearbox and brakes to cope with the stresses, and you have the Astra VXR Extreme ... and it's street legal.
