British luxury yacht builder Pearl Yachts takes its first steps into the world of superyachts with its Pearl 95 – a 96-ft (29.2-m) cruiser that's billed as combining seakeeping with the latest in posh living and will make its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.

Few of us will take to the water on anything resembling the luxury superyachts gathered here, but that doesn't mean we can't marvel at the imagination, creativity and outright audacity that goes into their dramatic designs.​

Dutch yacht design firm Sinot recently unveiled its 120-meter (394-ft) concept yacht during the Monaco Yacht Show 2017. Dubbed Nature, the superyacht is designed to push the boundaries of contemporary yacht design by combining a central focus around nature with luxury and innovation.

Clifford Denn already has a portfolio that puts him in the elite category of maritime designers, but his latest concept, shown at the Monaco Yacht Show last week, could start a trend for superyachts by putting the wheelhouse one deck down and devoting the upper deck to the passengers.

Porsche has an instantly-recognizable product on the road, but translating that to a yacht is something different. Having revealed renders last year, Dynamiq has turned the Porsche-inspired GTT 115 Hybrid into a reality, launching it ahead of the Monaco Yacht Show.

Turkish shipyard Numarine has recently launched its very first 32-m (105-ft) explorer yacht. Powered by two 715-hp Caterpillar engines, the 32XP features an efficient displacement steel hull and it was specifically built to drastically reduce noise and vibration.

Heesen Yachts has set out to eliminate homesickness by letting the well-heeled take their home (or one of them, at least) along on their travels. The YN17850 Home superyacht is designed as a luxurious 164-ft (50-m) hybrid retreat for the fuel-conscious billionaire.

Look past their overt flashiness, and some luxury yachts offer fascinating takes on how to effectively use limited space. With a simple hull design, airy interior and auxiliary solar power system, the Arcadia A85S aims to pack a clean, luxurious floating home into its 85-ft (25.6-m) hull.

Having built more than a million 911s, Porsche has a look that's instantly recognisable on the road. But how do those lines translate to the high seas? Monaco-based Dynamiq has integrated classic Porsche design cues into its new GTT yacht range, starting with the 35-m (115-ft) GTT 115 Hybrid.

In addition to his famous automotive design work, Henrik Fisker's resume now includes an impressive hunk of nautical design. The 164-foot (50 m) Benetti Fisker 50, brings Fisker-manipulated curves, a movie theater-turned-gym, multiple "oceanfront" bars and plenty of other luxuries to the high seas.
