Cool article, having just watched old James Bond movies, makes it seem possible.

I would like to see videos along with the pictures...

Very cool James! I love these Gizmag exclusives. It's one of the main reasons I choose you guys over all the others. Keep up the good work!

Yes, video please :) It doesn't need to be a sexy well edited short video on the days events, sometimes the personal video offers a more immerse experience

I want one!!! I wonder if they would take a cheque? Might have to hold on to it for a wee bit before they can cash it tho, say 40 years? ;-]
Very cool and well done on the article!

I think that is way cool. Since I would never be able to afford one, it would be neat - per articles - if they had the 5 seat version where one could get a ride, like they do on whale watch boat rides (have videos of both the passengers and what they are viewing, which would be a bonus to remember the trip).
Wragie, perhaps they will have a payment plan where you pay so much down and make payments for the rest of your life? :)

A few observations, mainly from the image gallery:
In image 25, "Erik relays safety checks to the crew at the surface." Erik is wearing a mic... given how difficult it is to transmit radio through the sea, how is this communication managed?
One of the pics shows "getting the sub aboard the yacht is an involved process." For the price alluded to in the text, your purchaser will want ease, not struggle, in handling his toy.
In image 61, the seats look stark, simplistic, uncomfortable. Again, for €1.4M, your buyer will want his butt to be caressed.
A couple of images show a "panel of dials and controls behind the crew." Okay, but it has a positively 1960's look to it. Where's the heads-up display?
The control is "a bank of four throttle levers"... Really?! Talk about 1960s! Spend another €4K for a joy-stick/collective like a modern (but not THAT modern) helicopter.
I hope this is just a prototype and they'll make the effort to bring their product into the 21st century.

piperTom; AFAIK, they use ultrasonics, not radio. Only ELF (extra low frequency) signals can penetrate the sea, and those not very deep. With very low, obviously, bandwidth.

I agree with the other comments about video. After all, at the beginning of the article, you wrote; "Equipped with U-Boat Worx' GoPro video cameras in and outside the sub,...".
I appreciated the explanation as to why the throttles instead of a joystick.
Finally: You lucky guy! What a terrific, 'once in a lifetime', adventure.
