February 8, 2008 Zonet has released a line of SATA Enclosures for PC and Mac desktops, laptops, and peripherals. Ranging in price from US$25 to $35, the four models can convert any 2.5-inch or 3.5- inch SATA hard disk drive into SATA and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 external hard drives by connecting the drive to the cables inside the enclosure.

Each enclosure is housed in a resilient, high-impact acrylic case in azure blue or supple leather. The bus-powered SATA Enclosures require no external AC power and allow users to store and share data between multiple computers. Each SATA Enclosure also supports the X-Box 360 and PS3.

The ZNS8023 supports USB 2.0 data transfer rates of up to 480Mbps on 2.5-inch SATA hard drives. It is hot-swappable, allows plug and play use, and supports up to 250GB SATA hard drives.

The ZNS8010 provides USB 2.0/1.1 compatibility, and functions with any standard 3.5-inch SATA hard drive. It is hot-swappable, has a data transfer rate of up to 30Mbps, and supports up to 1TB HDD.

The ZNS8021 provides USB 2.0/1.1 compatibility, and supports data transfer rates of up to 30Mbps on 2.5-inch SATA hard drives. It is hot-swappable, allows plug and play use, has a leather coated case, and supports up to 250GB SATA hard drives.

The ZNS8022 provides USB 2.0/1.1 compatibility and delivers data transfer rates of 32Mbps on 2.5-inch Slim Notebook hard drives. One-Touch Backup & Restore can be used to share and copy files automatically, while the aluminum design keeps the drive cool and quiet. The ZNS8022 supports up to 250GB SATA hard drives.
