Using the British Union Jack as inspiration, the Jaguar design team has created a special British Design Edition of the F-Type coupe and convertible. This special edition for the car adds exterior and interior styling points, performance braking, and unique wheels. An especially powerful sound system and Apple Watch app round out the special edition's upgrades.
The Jaguar F-Type British Design Edition begins with the F-Type itself, a powerful two-seat sports car with both a coupe and convertible option. Gizmag drove the excellent F-Type R edition earlier this year. The British Design Edition is based on the standard F-Type model with its supercharged V6 engine and six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission options, with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

The British Design Edition will have four color options based on the British Union Jack flag: Caldera Red, Glacier White, Ultra Blue, or Ultimate Black. Immediately apparent to onlookers, beyond the color choice, and marking this special edition apart from other F-Type cars will be the 20-inch Cyclone wheels in Satin Dark Grey finish. These are exclusive to the F-Type British Design Edition. Underneath those wheels will be the Jaguar Super Performance Braking system with red calipers, which is seen on the R performance line. Those calipers can optionally be made black.
Looking inside, F-Type aficionados will also note the unique interior for the British Design Edition. A jet premium leather interior with contrast stitching in red, ivory, or blue will be noted. This, along with the British Design Edition badging at front and rear on the car itself as well as on the headrests and tread plates will be definite giveaways.
For enthusiasts, the InControl Remote App becomes available to the Apple Watch and enables remote systems checks on the F-Type, including fuel level status, locking and unlocking of doors, and remote engine starting. The 10-speaker Meridian sound system, standard on the F-Type, will also be enhanced by an optional 12-speaker Meridian Surround Sound System.
The British Design Edition will be part of the 2017 Jaguar F-Type lineup coming in early 2016.
