Kogan launches 10-inch Agora netbook series in Australia

Kogan Technologies today launched the Agora netbook series, featuring the Agora and the Agora Pro. The 1.6GHz Atom based netbooks are the cheapest available in Australia, starting at AUD$499. Both models come preloaded with the gOS operating system, a variant of Ubuntu Linux, but in an interesting move, Kogan's support team is offering to guide customers through the process of installing other supported operating systems including Windows XP and Windows 7.

  • Intel GMA 950 graphics
  • 3x USB 2.0, 1x VGA, 1x Ethernet, 1x SD/MMC/MS/MS Pro memory card
  • 802.11b/g wireless
  • 3-cell battery (2-3 hour battery life)
  • AUD$499

The Pro model costs AUD$539, adding an extra gigabyte of RAM, a 6-cell battery and a USB Bluetooth dongle.
Orders are open now at kogan.com.au, with units shipping to customers on April 10.
