31 July, 2008 Most business travelers would agree that anything which saves them time at check-in is a bonus. One of the common hassles occurs at security points when travelers are required to remove their laptop from its case for screening, which also leaves the door open for laptops being dropped, lost or stolen. Targus' new Zip-Thru laptop case allows travelers to get through security checks without having to remove their laptop from its case. The zip-thru case splits down the middle which exposes the laptop and allows security staff to get a clear x-ray image of it without risking damage or theft.

Targus consulted the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to ensure that airport staff could get a clear image of the laptop secured within the zip-thru case.

According to Al Giazzon, vice president of marketing at Targus: “The new Zip-Thru Corporate Traveler laptop case is the lightest in its class, and features our patented SafePort Air Cushion System, which helps to prevent laptop damage if the bag is dropped or bumped.”

The design allows plenty of room for accessories, files and other devices. It is made of durable 1680 denier nylon and features a padded ergonomic shoulder strap. The case weighs just under 4 pounds and measures 16.93" x 6.5" x 13.98".

Scheduled for release in October, the zip-thru case has a recommended retail price of USD $99.99 and will be available at Targus and Targus stockists.
