Following Google's announcement last September, Toshiba's Digital Products Division has now confirmed that the company is joining the Haswell Chromebook party with a model of its very own. The Toshiba Chromebook is the first to feature a 13-inch HD display, offers dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity and promises day-long battery life.

The Toshiba Chromebook's 13.3-inch, 1366 x 768 resolution TruBrite display size sits between Chrome-based notebooks from Acer and HP. The 3.3 lb (1.5 kg), 0.8-in (20 mm) thin device has an Intel Celeron (Haswell-based) processor at its heart, supported by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB solid state storage with media card expansion, and comes with 100 GB of Google Drive storage.

Toshiba has treated its first foray into the Chromebook space to 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, as well as one HDMI and two USB 3.0 ports. There's a full-size keyboard that's been optimized for the Chrome OS, and the onboard battery is reported to offer 9 hours of use between charges.

The Toshiba Chromebook carries a suggested retail price of US$279.99, and will be available from February 16.

I think it is a good deal. If one is just going online and work online, it is a good price for a big notebook computer.
I read that the number of Chromebooks are increasing.

I'm amazed at the number of chromebooks that only offer wifi and not wifi+4g LTE. The ones that do are over priced/poor value.
