The humble iron, while an incredibly useful device for keeping clothes looking their best, has not seen very many major changes over its history, at least from a core functionality standpoint. Collar Perfect is aiming to make that happen, by making it portable and allowing it to get to hard-to-reach places more easily.

The basic difference between this and a traditional iron is its adjustable wings. They sit facing each other, which allows the user to place an article of clothing between them to iron both sides. This is how it's able to get collars, between buttons, and in other hard-to-reach places that a regular iron would have difficulty with.

The aforementioned wings are also what allows the device to function as a more traditional iron, as they can be flipped out and used flat. That being said, it's clear that the surface area covered when using the device like this is quite a bit less than the amount covered by a traditional iron, which means ironing an entire outfit will probably take a bit longer. However, that's the trade-off for the portability and ability to get in tight spaces.

Some other notable features promised by the Collar Perfect Iron is the ability to choose between five different heat settings ranging from denim to linen, along with a rotating power cord, which should boost the user's ability to finagle their way around their clothes.

Brandon Dierker, the inventor of the Collar Perfect Iron, is seeking funding on Kickstarter. Backers interested in preordering an iron will need to make a pledge of at least $25, and the creators estimate they will ship around April of 2015 – assuming it reaches production.

The only thing that i find interesting is that fact that it can lay flat and be used more like a traditional iron. Other than that ive had a mini hair straightener for years that i use for collars and such on my shirts.
