Timbercraft Tiny Homes impressed us with its previous two models, the large cottage-like Denali, and the similarly-proportioned Retreat, which sleeps up to six people. Those who aren't into the recent supersized tiny house trend may prefer the firm's latest design, the Ridgewood, which recalls the styling of those two homes but does so in a smaller, more manageable package.
The Ridgewood is based on a triple axle trailer and measures 28 ft (8.5 m) in length, with a total floorspace of 375 sq ft (34.8 sq m), including its twin lofts. The exterior is clad in green LP SmartSide siding and the interior is finished in tongue and groove pine.
Judging by the photos, the tiny home appears nice and bright inside, thanks to twin skylights and lots of glazing, including a little porthole-like round window. A kitchen and dining booth take up the center of the home, with the former including concrete countertops, a washer/dryer combo, and a large pantry.
The kitchen and dining area is flanked by a living room to one side and a bathroom to the other. The latter contains a clawfoot bathtub and shower, in addition to a sink and toilet.
The Ridgewood includes two bedroom lofts. The first is reached by a proper staircase with integrated storage (and it's a lot of storage by the way), while accessing the second involves climbing a movable ladder. Both are typical tiny house loft-style bedrooms with enough room for a double bed but little else, and no room to stand up.
The Ridgewood gets power from a standard RV-style hookup and water is heated with a tankless water heater. The interior temperature is controlled by a mini-split and a ceiling-mounted fan. We've no word on the price on this one.
