Most autonomous cars are rough, experimental versions of current models, with all kinds of added sensor hardware. The recent Geneva Motor Show flipped the autonomous vehicle inside out, showcasing several futuristic design studies that peeked inside the autonomous car cabin of the future.

As always, autos were the main focus of this year's Geneva Motor Show, but a smaller category of vehicle made its presence felt. Electric bikes and scooters had a strong showing. One interesting design we found, the FEDDZ strikes a balance between electric cargo bike and motor scooter.

At the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen was determined to show a few different looks for all-wheel-powered vehicles with off-road intentions. It revealed a utility convertible in the T-ROC concept and also debuted the Multivan Alltrack concept, an AWD van for "all roads and any track."

At the Geneva Motor Show, Gumpert introduced the Explosion, a humbly styled and powered sports car with a price just north of €100,000. Despite drawing power from a modest 2.0-liter engine, the Explosion still shoots off the line to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a mere three seconds.

Italdesign Giugiaro’s Clipper MPV concept car was unveiled last week at the Geneva Motor Show. The four-wheel drive, six-seater with fully independent all-electric drive sports a design based on a study of future cities and is billed by the maker as a “veritable automotive research design lab.”
