Acer has announced its next Ferrari-branded product in the form of the liquidmini Ferrari Edition smartphone, which features a 3.2-inch screen and runs Android 2.3. The new arrival will expand Acer's lineup of products featuring the Ferrari logo, including laptops, LCD monitors and last year's Liquid E Ferrari Edition Android-based smartphone.

The most visible link of the liquidmini Ferrari Edition to the Italian marque is its red casing with chrome trim, that is curved on the back and adorned with the "prancing horse" logo. As with Acer's previous handset, the liquidmini comes with Ferrari-themed content including Ferrari engine ringtones as well as preloaded wallpapers, pictures and videos. Acer's included SocialJogger 2.0 app is reportedly designed to bring constant updates from Ferrari news sources, including Facebook and Twitter.

The liquidmini is lower spec'd than its Ferrari-branded Liquid E predecessor unveiled at Computex 2010, especially in terms of the smaller screen with lower resolution, and a lower-clocked CPU.

Running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), the liquidmini Ferrari Edition comes with 3.2-inch HVGA (480x320 pixels) capacitive touchscreen, a 5-megapixel camera on the back, micro SD card slot with 8GB card included, and a standard set of communication features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, and HSDPA support. It's powered via a 600MHz ARM 11 CPU and 512MB of RAM. The liquidmini is quite lightweight, at just 105 grams (3.4 oz), while the Liquid E Ferrari Edition was 30 grams heavier.

The newest arrival will be sold bundled with a Ferrari-branded Bluetooth headset, featuring noise and echo cancellation, and automatic adjustment of incoming call volume.

The Acer liquidmini Ferrari Edition's pricing and date of release haven't been announced at this point.

Fabulous if you are a Ferrari fan like I am. I just hope they are priced right. Would love one. Already have Ferrari engine ring tones. The sound of a F1 engine make my shirt run up and down my back like a roller blind. Don\'t take life to seriously Mr Stiffy. No one gets out alive.
