Daimler has let three of its autonomous trucks loose on public roads, setting them the task of driving from Stuttgart to Rotterdam as a fully connected platoon. As well as demonstrating the scope of Daimler's own autonomous tech, the road trip is a part of the European Truck Platooning Challenge.

With the New York Auto Show just around the corner, manufacturers are beginning to leak details of some of their new offerings. BMW will be on hand next week with not one but two new models: the M4 Convertible, with its 425 hp twin-turbo engine, and the mid-range crossover in the form of the X4.

BMW has announced key upgrades to its ConnectedDrive infotainment suite as it rolls out 2014 models.
