Designs of the Year

The National Museum of African American History and Culture, by Sir David Adjaye, has won the prestigious Beazley Design of the Year for 2017. The project beat strong competition including a new 3D-printing technique named Rapid Liquid Printing, and a stair-climbing wheelchair dubbed Scewo.

A micro-device lined with living human cells able to mimic the function of living organs has been declared the overall winner of the Design Museum's Design of the Year Award for 2015.

The category winners for the 2015 Designs of the Year awards have been announced. One of the winners from the architecture, digital, fashion, graphics, product and transport categories will be picked as overall winner.
