Dutch brand Donkervoort's crazy, ultra-light, Audi-powered D8 GTO has more than proven itself since its 2013 debut, at one time holding a top-10 Nurburgring lap. Now, there's a special edition celebrating founder Joop Donkervoort's 70th birthday.

In 2004, the Donkervoort D8 RS set a Nürburgring record, blowing the previous Porsche Carrera GT record away by close to 15 seconds. And now Donkervoort is launching that model's spiritual successor, the D8 GTO-RS.​

Dutch Automaker Donkervoort has unveiled a special edition of its D8 GTO sports car. The D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition was created to toast the firm's 2014 successes, including, it says, breaking the Bilster Berg circuit lap record for street-legal production cars. Just 14 of the cars will be made.
