Expansion of UK's Heathrow Airport takes flight

Earlier this week, the UK government announced its support for the expansion of Heathrow Airport into a "hub airport of the future." The country has spent a number of years considering how best to increase its airport capacity and the decision signals the direction it will pursue.

Ultra Pod driverless shuttles to be trialed in London this summer

Later this year, a fleet of driverless vehicles will take to the streets of the London borough of Greenwich. The vehicles themselves will be developed from an existing fleet of automated pods used for short journeys across Heathrow Airport.

"Slipstream" sculpture simulates flight pattern in re-vamped Heathrow Terminal 2

A complex aeronautical sculpture by Richard Wilson, described by engineers as "a hundred-thousand-piece jigsaw," was unveiled as part of the newly refurbished Heathrow Terminal 2 on April 23. The 78-meter-long (256-foot) sculpture simulates the flight path of a small stunt plane.
