Incineration

The winning design of what is set to be the "largest waste-to-energy plant in the world" has been announced. Shenzhen East Waste-to-Energy Plant will take a distinctive circular form. It was designed by Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects and Gottlieb Paludan Architects.

Incinerators can't often be described as beautiful, but a newly inaugurated incinerator in Roskilde, Denmark, is just that. The main purpose of the Energy Tower is to generate electricity and heat. At night-time, though, glowing lights can be seen beneath its perforated façade.
