First manufactured in 1948, the original BSA Bantam was perhaps one of the most iconic two-wheelers that ushered in a new era of motorcycle culture. Now, some 75 years later, the company has revived the name for its latest 350cc offering.

This year the Autumn Stafford Sale seemed more eccentric than normal, with some extraordinary motorcycles selling for not very much, and at the other end of the scale, several of the most expensive two-stroke motorcycles ever sold at auction.

As India's gargantuan motorcycle market matures, Indian manufacturers are partnering with or acquiring brand names that focus on provenance, heritage and authenticity: Peugeot (since 1901), Triumph (since 1902), BSA (since 1903) and Husqvarna (since 1903).​
