​Wondering what comes next for tires has made for some fascinating concepts, from tweels to shape-shifting hoops able to adapt with the road. The latest designs to receive recognition come from Kumho, which has won International Design Excellence Awards for the Smasher and Sealant.​

Kumho has taken out a Platinum award in the Futuristic class on the Italian A’ Design Awards for its all-weather tire concept that would switch between a number of different surface configurations to deal with everything from dry to snow-covered roads.
