Last year, Phinergy and Alcoa announced the development of an aluminum-air battery that could give an electric car a potential range of 1,000 miles, with stops along the way for a water top-up. Now the companies have debuted the technology on the track at Montreal’s Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.

Israel-based company Phinergy claims to have developed metal-air battery technology that promises to end the range anxiety associated with electric vehicles.
