Germany's PC-Aero says that its Elektra One Solar has become the first solar-electric plane to cross the Alps in both directions.

PC-Aero's Elektra One electric Ultralight can fly for three hours, cruise at 160 km/h and has a 500 km range. It will be sold including a "SunAirport" hangar which incorporates photovoltaic cells, for less than EUR100,000 (US$145,000) from 2012.
