Starting in 2009, Solar Flight president Eric Raymond took his solar-electric Sunseeker II over the Alps a number of times. This August, he did an over-and-back trip … although this time he flew his two-seater Sunseeker Duo, which allowed him to bring his wife Irena along as a second pilot.

Raymond's Solar Flight has detailed its fourth solar-powered aircraft, the Sunstar. Designed primarily for unmanned flight, it's reported to have more performance potential than any other projects currently under development, with greater flight speeds in a turbulence-tolerant design.

Solar Flight has announced that husband and wife team Eric and Irene Raymond have taken to the skies together, making the Duo the first solar-powered airplane to carry two people.

The team at Solar Flight recentlly unveiled plans for what would be the world's first two-seater solar aircraft, the Sunseeker Duo. Today, it announced that it has spent the last few months testing the plane's performance and the results hold some promise for helping achieve its lofty ambitions.

The team behind the Sunseeker II solar aircraft have begun construction on a two-passenger solar aircraft, named the Sunseeker Duo.

As well as showing off the gorgeous Sunseeker II solar-powered airplane, Eric Raymond took the opportunity offered by the Green Air Show in Paris to preview the next project - the two-seater Sunseeker III.
