The fifth and latest test launch of SpaceX's Grasshopper continues its recent trend of exponential altitude gains, this time reaching a height of 250 meters (820 feet), more than three times the altitude achieved in March.

The SpaceX vertical takeoff and landing test-bed Grasshopper successfully negotiated a 40 m (131 ft) hop last week.

The Masten Xaero reusable suborbital rocket, an outgrowth of the Lunar Landing Challenge winner, carried out a highly successful test flight.
