425 Park Avenue: A 21st century building on a 20th century street

Work has begun on replacing the existing building at 425 Park Avenue in New York with a new 21st century skyscraper designed by Foster + Partners. The design is aimed at being sustainable and at promoting the wellbeing of its occupants. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on Jun. 10.

The CSL at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens has become the first building to obtain the world's four highest sustainable building standards, according to Phipps. The facility has just added Living Building Challenge certification to its list of credits.
