BMW will unveil its new BMW M6 Coupe Competition Edition at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week. The Competition Package supes up the existing M6 Coupe. A 4.4-l V8 petrol engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology produces 441 kW (600 hp), a maximum torque of 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) and a top speed of 305 km/h (189.5 mph).

The Competition Edition shares its engine and bodywork stripes in the BMW M colors with the new M6 GT3. Whereas the GT3 is designed for use on the track, however, the Competition is aimed squarely at on-road use.

There's a choice of paintwork to go with the bodywork stripes. Customers can go for Alpine White or Austin Yellow metallic. The finish is offest by matte-black 20-in M light-alloy wheels with double-spoke 343 M styling, a black chrome BMW kidney grille, door handles, side gills and carbon-fiber exterior mirror caps. The rear spoiler and diffuser, designed to optimize airflow, are also formed of carbon-fiber.

The Competition Edition features a fine-grain Merino full leather interior in black with contrasting stitching. The use of carbon fiber for the exterior is drawn through to the interior trim strips, gear selector and M sports steering wheel spokes. The steering wheel rim, meanwhile, is lined with Alcantara.

Elsewhere, the car features M multifunction seats for the driver and front passenger, and a head-up display. Customers can choose between either Harman Kardon or Bang & Olufsen surround sound systems.

The Competition Edition option for the BMW M6 Coupe will be on show at the Frankfurt Motor Show from Sept. 17-27 and is available to order now, starting at an extra €17,700 (US$20,000).

Great looking car, when you get rid of clown-looking graphics.
If they don't add to the vehicle's overall design, why would you have them.
Suggestion: come up with better designed graphics, or sans the whole look.
Really, I can't see any reason to detract from an already beautiful design, with sub-par decorations.
