"Lo-fi" photography using film cameras such as Holga has made something of a comeback in recent times, with creative types embracing the ability to do things like snapping double exposures. The pocket-sized, 3.2-megapixel Double Exposure Digi Cam offers a way to try out this effect without the use of image editing software or a trip to the dark-room.

Some digital cameras offer multiple exposure mode, but most of compact snappers don't, and you have to dig into editing software to obtain such effects. While Digi Cam allows for double exposure photographs, its single exposure pics and videos also offer lo-fi appeal, with "saturated colors and wicked vignetting" (examples in gallery).

Digi Cam shoots 2048 x 1536 resolution stills and 640x480 (VGA) videos, which can be viewed on its 1-inch LCD and stored on a micro SD card. Other specs include a 2 second self-timer, focal range of 3 feet (0.9 m) to infinity, shutter speed 1/8 to 1/5000, while ISO sensitivity is fixed at 100. Charging and file transfer is via USB.

Weighing in at just 31.5 grams (1.1 oz) and measuring 3.8 x 5 x 2.54 cm (1.5 x 2 x 1 inches), the tiny camera can also serve as a key ring (it comes with a tiny loop). Double Exposure Digi Cam retails at Photojojo for US$130.

Looks like a fun device for creative types or as a handy extra device. I would rather have more control over any double exposure look during post production editing though. It\'s not nearly as difficult as it seems. If a person didn\'t feel like \"digging through their editing software\" to learn this process, they aren\'t likely going to be creating decent double exposures with this camera either. You simply make one photo semi-transparent and layer it over the other photo. Even the simplest photo editing software will do this.

Quite a bit of money to deliberately take crappy photos. ;)
