For this year’s Specialty Equipment Manufacturer’s Association (SEMA) show, Fiat decided to showcase its latest entry into the American market, the 500X crossover. The Fiat 500X Chicane features some very Los Angeles-style street cred changes thanks to Mopar, with a new fascia, some body cladding, and oversized 20-inch (51cm) two-tone wheels getting things started.

The Chicane concept begins with a Competition Blue exterior paint scheme accented by the Chicane bodyside stripe and Gloss Black paint on the roof. The black is carried through in two tones on the wheels in Satin and Gloss. A lowering kit and cat-back exhaust and tips complete the overall street tuner look.

Satin Black door sill guards are conceptual upgrades for this SEMA car. Katzkin leather seating with blue borders to match the exterior and blue accents in the instruments and steering wheel center cap also help bring the outside in.

The engine and transmission are stock for the 500X. A 2.4-liter Tigershark MultiAir2 engine and nine-speed automatic transmission see no modifications, but the exhaust kit does improve output some, Fiat says, but no specifics as to just how much are given.

The Fiat 500X Chicane concept is one of the hotter ones we’ve seen for what would otherwise be a relatively mundane vehicle. The other concept being shown for the 500X is called the Mobe, showcasing a lifestyle personalization for the crossover.
