It’s France’s turn for the giant European car show this year and Korean manufacturer Kia will be showing an all-electric compact concept it has named POP. The POP is a “clean sheet” design developed by Kia’s European design team under the direction of Peter Schreyer, Kia’s Chief Design Officer, and Gregory Guillaume, Kia Europe’s Chief Designer.
Check out the gallery for more pics of the POP from the floor of Mondial Automobile in Paris.
Show details can be found at the Mondial Automobile site.
That said its a concept car... IE pointless waste of time and money.
Why don\'t companies actually make radically new cars instead of designing them and patting themselves on the back.
Tho to be fair the doors do swing upwards away from ones exiting legs, so it has to be easier to get out of - and even in a crammed car park.
I suppose it could always be used as a re-entry vehicle from the space station - you know instant air brakes, and if they spun a bit - it could become a glider.
All jesting aside, if the doors didn\'t look like Prince Charles, and they opened up like a slide up or rotated up and forward vertically or similar, it would be a great car.
When artists go bad, or, sending an artist to do real world work best left to \"tinkerers\" Seriously, look at the inovation some non-\"professionals\" have done and actually put into real steel etcetcetc and licensed and driven and maintained and.....you can see why a large number of joe 6pax types are justified in laughing at the elite.
I think concept cars don't have to be practical, just fun.
