As we demand more and more quality and detail in digital photography and high definition videography, the size of the output files is the first to take a hit. So, it's good to see that Lexar Media has confirmed that the 128GB 133x Professional SDXC media card announced in January is now shipping. The company says that the new card benefits from Class 10 rated speed and carries a much more affordable price tag, to boot.

Some camera manufacturers, such as Ricoh, have yet to adopt the Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) media card format, but Lexar is pushing the storage envelope anyway. Its latest Professional product is the industry's first 128GB capacity SDXC card, a Class 10 speed rated monster that's said to offer minimum data transfer of a rather nippy 20MB per second.

The Lexar Professional 133x SDXC Card is available now via Lexar's online store or from B&H Photo and Video, and Adorama Camera stores across the U.S. It's bundled with Image Rescue software, which can help to recover any lost or deleted photo and video files, and comes in quite a bit cheaper than first announced, at US$329.99.

A 64GB 133x SDXC memory card has also been released at the same time, costing US$199.99.

I think the price is too costly for the moment. We\'ll wait for a better time.
