Netflix has just lessened you and your mobile device's crushing dependency on a Wi-Fi connection. The company just announced that members can download their favorite titles, in addition to streaming them, at no additional cost.

That means you can prepare for a TV or movie binge ahead of time, perhaps in advance of a long flight or a trip to an off-the-grid locale. Suddenly, "Airplane Mode" doesn't look so bad.

To access this feature, sign into your Netflix account with your mobile device and navigate to the details page of the title in question. There's a new "Download" icon on the right side of the page. Once it's downloaded, you can watch it offline as often as you'd like.

Not all series and movies are currently available for download, but Netflix has said that more will become available soon.

Thanks, I was wondering what that was all about. Apparently you have to download a new app for Android.

I hope they bring this feature to lots of kids shows, and to the Xbox One. We waste a lot of data streaming the same things over and over again! A 4 yr old wants what a 4 yr old wants, lol
