Remember the Ostrich pillow we posted about last year? Back then, it was just a concept. Soon, however, you may be able to buy one for yourself, as the project is going public on Kickstarter.

As a quick refresher, the Ostrich Pillow is designed for napping in places where you would not normally be very comfortable, or be able to get much peace and quiet. For example, you might want a nap while leaning forward on a desk or table. Normally, this is doable, but not necessarily that appealing. With the Ostrich pillow, you place your head and hands inside the pillow and create a quiet, dark, private sleeping place.

The first thing I thought of was trying to breathe inside this thing, but they included a hole for your mouth and nose. Preventing suffocation is generally a good thing.

The device itself has not changed much since it was first shown off. It is still made with an interior that is designed to be soft, comfortable, and quiet. The big change is that you can actually purchase one, as long as the designers meet their goal on Kickstarter. There are a bunch of options for backing the project. If you get in soon you can grab one for US$60. This is limited to the first 300 backers. After that, you can pick up one for $75. As you go past this option, you get more pillows, and the price for each one is lower.

If you would like to see the Ostrich pillow in action (or lack thereof) have a look at the Kickstarter video below.

Now you, yes YOU, can live out your socially unacceptable desires by shoving your head into abstract representation of a human vagina and uterus.

Sleeping on the job. Yeah, that'll get you that promotion. I've seen ridiculous things being promoted but this one certainly has raised that bar.

It looks funny, but I could see a use for it...of course, a built in 20 minute timer would help for a REAL power nap and to make sure I don't oversleep during my lunch break.

Sorry, but few people are gonna go for the "An Alien pod is eating my head" look.

@ Buellrider I assume you have never heard of narcolepsy among other sleep disorders .... this would be frikkin brilliant ... and that nap at lunchtime for those who suffer from narcolepsy is the difference of being unemployed or able to function within the workplace not to mention preventing a lethal accident as soon as they try to drive home ....... I just wish I could of had the opportunity to try one of these before my ride to hospital in an ambulance ( collapse not accident, already had heaps of minor scrapes and bumps)
