A new hotel is to open at the Palm Tower in Dubai. The St. Regis Dubai – The Palm will take up part of the 52-story luxury tower, which is the centerpiece of the Palm Jumeirah island. It will boast a 51st story restaurant, a public viewing deck and one of the highest infinity pools in the world.

The Palm Tower is owned by Dubai developer Nakheel and the hotel will be run by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. There will be 289 guest rooms spread across the first 18 floors of the tower, including 23 suites, while the upper floors will house 504 luxury apartments.

The hotel will have two swimming pools, one of which is to be located on the 50th floor at a height of 210 m (689 ft). This, says Nakheel, will make it one of the highest infinity pools in the world. The pool will border all four sides of the building and offer 360-degree views of the surrounding areas. Renderings show an adjacent bar area and sun decks with loungers on which to relax.

Above the pool, in the upper most portion of the Palm Tower, will be an all-day restaurant and a publicly accessible rooftop viewing gallery. Elsewhere, hotel guests will have easy access to the 1,100,000-sq ft (102,193-sq m) Al Ittihad Park, in which there are over 60 types of indigenous plants, as well as a 3.2-km (2-mi) looped running track.

The St. Regis Dubai – The Palm is scheduled to open in 2018.

That looks awesome. Must be good to have all that oil money.
