Aerovel Corporation has completed the first autonomous launch, flight and landing of its Flexrotor UAV at sea. Not only was the aircraft unmanned, so was the boat. And the flight wasn't performed just once, but twice, with an autonomous refueling stop in between.

The Flexrotor is a UAV designed to transition from vertical to horizontal flight without any pivoting of its rotor.
