So long, days of getting tripped up on your dog's leash and having to do clumsy pirouettes. No more untangling your pudgy little pooch from signposts and fire hydrants. Heel has launched the Roam 350, which it claims is the world's first virtual dog leash.

The latest smart dog collar to catch our eye is Buddy from pet-tech company Squeaker, which includes some of the features found in similar devices like Whistle, Tagg and Geodog, but packs in a few more designed to help keep your pooch safe and healthy.

Though we'd all like to believe that we'd know when something's not quite right with our four-legged friends, a helping hand wouldn't go amiss. At CE Week in New York today Gizmag was introduced to the Voyce wearable health band that helps keep track of a dog's health and habits.
