Haier

Another day, another new Chrome OS device. Or rather four. Alongside the standard (but very affordable) Haier Chromebook 11 and Hisense Chromebook, and the ultra-portable Asus Chromebook Flip, Google has unveiled the Chromebit, a computer on a stick which can be used with any HDMI display.

Haier and Energous are joining forces to turn household appliances, such as fridges and washing machines, into chargers for mobile devices. Not only that, they will be using the WattUp technology developed by Energous that allows devices to be charged at a distance.

Signalling that Apple's Made for iPhone/iPod/iPad (MFi) certification may be set to play a bigger role in ushering in the "Internet of Things," Chinese manufacturer Haier has unveiled the first white good to be certified by the MFi program, a smart air conditioner.

Gizmag had the chance to try out a new eye-controlled TV, made by Chinese electronics firm Haier.

The Haier PowerPad is a concept device shown at SinoCES which captures the energy contained in the form of heat within the water which runs off our bodies every morning in the shower, and returns said energy to the hot water tank.
