The Toyota i-Road appears to be a promising congestion-buster, with a tiny on-road footprint and decent electric range. To make sure the tilting three-wheeler works in the real world, Toyota is handing a fleet of i-Roads over to consumers and businesses as a part of its Open Road Project.

Toyota's i-Road electric three-wheeler concept is set to make it off the drawing board and onto the road. A limited production run of the fully enclosed, tilting i-Road will begin shortly, with initial units being transferred to Toyota's Ha:mo urban transport system trials in Toyota City.
